CKC Convention

Went to the scrapbooking convention this weekend in Collinsville. I took 2 great classes from Embellishonline.com and I won a paper pack of my choice. This is what I picked, hello luscious from basic grey. So exciting!

This is a page I did forever ago. It was an Archivers scrap mania kit. I really love the idea of cutting out pieces from the paper and using those as embellishments. What a money saver!

Justin's Christmas Present

This was my cousin's Christmas present, a 6-4x6 frame of his dad, my uncle who passed away. It was a bittersweet project, I'm glad I got it done and that he loved it.

This is another project I have recently finished! I found this 8 1/2 x 11 transparency in a store in myrtle beach and framed it with a few pics for my Aunt Brenda of her dog. You just have to put the pics and embellishments down in the right spots on the paper so the words of the transparency can still be seen.

This is a two page layout kit I finally purchased from Scrapbook factory. I even bought it already done! I wanted the kit but turned out the sample pages from the kits were all on sale and these are my fav fourth of July embellishments so I had to get it. Did you ever notice there's not a lot of cute fourth of July stuff?

This is a recent vacation mini book I did. I love mini books cuz they're fast and easy but they also can be hard cuz you have only so much room to add embellishments.

This was a recent page I did. Instead of buying embellishments I cut out a flower from the paper-see the flower at the bottom of the page-and I adhered it to the top.

Found these titles at a local scrapbook store. It was a great deal buy one for $4.49 get the other one free. Wow scrapbooking is expensive!

Scrapfest

Went to the scrapfest this weekend in Minnesota at the Mall of America with my scrapbooking friend Megan! It had its ups and downs. Definitely did some shopping! Here are the pros of Scrapfest-they have the biggest Archivers there, scrapbooking is happening everywhere, you only pay $15 you get a free paper pack and even though we only completed 15 out of 32 make-n-takes we left with a ton of cute ideas & products and there are tons of stores to shop in when you get tired of waiting in make-n-take lines. The cons-the lines are horrific! And I'm thinking why do some of these women have seats on the top of their scrapbook totes haha So there's no way you could complete all the make-n-takes in 2 or even 3 days but maybe 4( I only went 2 days). Oh and I wish someone would have told us that most vendors do 2 make n takes. Crazy! Since we got tired of waiting in lines we asked some vendors if we could take our product and go so we could move onto the next. Some vendors were all about this(hey I'm making your line shorter) and some vendors didn't like this. But you should have the option to take it with you or sit and make it. Don't you think??!!! And after all is said and done your feet will hurt after all the walking trust me!!! I'm done venting. I feel much better!
